Deleting your account and data

Last updated

You can delete your Kabalit account yourself, at any time. This page explains how, and exactly what happens.

How to delete your account

You do not need to contact us, and you do not need to cancel anything first.

  • Open Kabalit and sign in.
  • Go to More → Settings.
  • Scroll to “Delete account”.
  • Confirm by typing DELETE.

What gets deleted

Deleting your account removes:

  • Your account record and sign-in identity.
  • All of your receipts and their files, including earlier versions of those files.
  • All of your products and warranty information.
  • All of your important documents and their encrypted files, including earlier versions.
  • Cached Auto Fill results derived from your files.
  • Your plan and usage records.

What may remain briefly

Our database has a rolling 35-day point-in-time recovery window provided by our hosting provider. It exists so the service can be restored after a technical failure, and it is not used to bring back individual deleted accounts.

We may keep service logs that record that an action happened, and we may keep records we are legally required to keep, such as records relating to a payment.

How long it takes

Deletion runs immediately when you confirm it. Your account and its content are gone from the app straight away, and the underlying files are removed as part of the same operation.

If you cannot sign in

If you have lost access to your account and cannot delete it yourself, write to support@kabalit.com from the email address you signed up with, and ask us to delete the account. We will need to be able to confirm the request came from you.

This cannot be undone

There is no way to recover a deleted account. If you want to keep your records, export your receipts before deleting.
